New Vision Coffee Europe (NVCE) operates Starbucks stores on American Army and Air Force Bases in Europe including a store in the American Consulate in Frankfurt.
The first store was opened on RAF Lakenheath in February 2012 and was an instant success with everyone on the Base.
The store on RAF Lakenheath was such a success that we were asked to open stores on other Bases in Europe. Germany has the most number of US Army and Air Force Bases in Europe and was chosen as the best country for expansion. NVCE opened its second store on the American Air Force Base in Spangdahlem, Germany in November 2012.
Our Story
Following the opening of stores on Lakenheath and Spangdahlem Bases the American personnel and their families on other Bases in Germany wanted their own Starbucks store and NVCE opened a store every year until 2016. In 2017, it also opened a store in the American Consulate in Frankfurt. NVCE now operates Starbucks stores on every major US Base in Germany.
Our aim has always been to provide the troops with an environment that makes them feel comfortable, happy and most importantly at home even though they miles away. This isn't fulfilled purely by making great coffee but through interaction with our customers. We challenge our partners to try and make someone's day, everyday.
Our Focus
At NVCE we focus on unity and team work through our partners. We focus on making sure all the partners know the company from top to bottom, and this ensures they do not feel like "just another employee". We want Starbucks to be the "third place" for customers, somewhere they can feel comfortable away from work or home. This also applies to our partners as we try to create an environment that drives fun, teamwork and rewards success.
Most of our partners are the spouses or dependents of personnel serving on the Base. They are a part of the Community and develop a store environment that makes the customer feel at home and they strive to "make the customers day," when they visit our store.
The Future
We are proud to be able to serve the "boys and girls" of the American Armed forces, doing their duty far away from home. It's our privilege to make them feel at home, away from home. We will continue to look for more Bases in Europe where we can viably open Starbucks stores and serve more personnel and their families.

Axel Eilts-Ferreira lives in Germany and has been working with the Company for over three years and manages all ad hoc projects. His deep knowledge of Starbucks operations and experience of being a store manager in some of the busiest Starbucks stores in the German economy gives him the ability to successfully manage different types of projects.
Recently he designed and implemented stock control and ordering system, including training all the managers in the use of the system and then “holding their hands” till they were confident in using the system. He is now working on designing and implementing customer loyalty scheme and remote ordering solutions. He has also successfully reduced costs in the areas of repairs, both equipment and store and delivery charges, without compromising service standards.
Previously he worked as a manager for Starbucks stores, managing their high turnover branches, including Airport stores. He was effectively their “trouble shooting” manager, moving from one branch to another to improve the performance. Worked for Starbucks for over 10 years.
